"A Time For Warning"
September 6, 2012

Due to the recent major disasters, bloody wars and ominous world events, many sincere Christians are asking, “Is the Church now in the Seven Year Tribulation Period of Revelation?” Great question. The answer is simply... no!  How do we know? Because the tribulation period begins with Israel and her Arab enemies, Iran, Syria, Lebanon and others signing a seven year peace treaty, under the deception of the Antichrist, the “false man of peace”, which has not yet happened—however...all signs indicate it’s just ahead! Iran’s president, Mahmoud Amadinajab has publicly threatened, “Israel is a disgraceful blot that should be wiped off the map. Anybody who helps Israel will burn in the fire of Iran’s fury!” That’s more than an idle threat—they are capable of doing it! Iran warned the U.S. that they would respond with missiles if attacked and that Israel would be making a “fatal mistake” should it resort to military action against their nuclear program.

Jesus, in describing the clear signs of His return, warned His disciples, “You will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in many parts of the world, as well as famines. But this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come. (Mark 13:7-10)  The King James Version calls the “more to come” the “beginning of sorrows”. No doubt, we have entered that season of great distress.

Be sure of this—more and more alarming BREAKING NEWS stories are yet to unfold in the final four months of 2012—the signs of Christ’s return are becoming rapidly more intense each and every day! This is the time for Christians to take heart, as Jesus encouraged us to “look up” when we see all these things begin to happen, for our redemption draws near. Amen. One of the major signs recently transpired on January 12, 2010 when Haiti was rocked by a magnitude 7 earthquake that killed 250,000 unsuspecting people. This world shaking disaster was followed a year later on March 11, 2011 by a magnitude 9 earthquake that set off an enormous tsunami that devastated Japan, killing 16,000 people and leaving 40,000 homeless. Scientists today are still predicting the “BIG ONE” to hit California along the famed San Andreas Fault.Marcia McNutt the director of the U.S. Geological Survey warned, "It's not a matter of IF, but WHEN this event strikes the people of the United States and shame on us if we don't prepare." Why? Because they’ve been warned!

On August 28, 2012, President Obama gave a stern warning to the Gulf Coast residents as Hurricane Isaac was barreling down upon them. He solemnly said, "Now is not the time to tempt fate. Now is not the time to dismiss official warnings. You need to take this seriously,"  But, of course, many didn’t, including President Obama who holds the highest office in the land who should have led his nation on their knees in prayer to Almighty God, crying for mercy and not judgment!

Psalm 83 gives a startling explanation as to why God sends judgment on peoples, churches and nations that turn their backs on Him. The psalmist declared, "Frighten them with Your storm that they may seek Your name. That they may know that You, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth". Amazing that God has to resort to disasters to get the attention of the world that He created, because they’re no longer listening to the voice of the Church that has lost its salt and light—why should they when some Christians live no better than the world? Even unsaved people know how Christians ought to be living according to the Bible, but apparently we don’t! We label our rebellion as liberty in the Lord, while flaunting  our unpunished sin in God’s face!  In Genesis 19, Lot warned his sons-in-law, but they mocked him, thinking he was only joking! Lot’s witness for the Lord obviously had no effect upon them, simply because his lifestyle was no better than theirs! Lot was a selfish compromiser, willing to even give his two virgin daughters to a mob of Sodomites to abuse.

Truly, this is a time for warning and thank the Lord there is a true voice for God today for all who have ears to hear what the Spirit is speaking. God spoke to Ezekiel, “Son of man, I am sending you to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me even unto this very day. And they, whether they will hear, or whether they refuse to hear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall they know that there has been a prophet among them”

Did the true prophets get it wrong about Hurricane Isaac in their predictions of a second “Katrina” devastating New Orleans again? No—God in His mercy answered the prayers of His people for that unrepentant city. Hurricane Isaac hit Louisiana 7 years to the very day of Katrina- is that not a supernatural warning from God? What do people want nowadays before they’ll believe and turn to God in repentance? Hurricane Isaac is the “beginning of sorrows” for those who harden their hearts and ignore the warnings!

I recently sat with a man who had just sat under the anointed, convicting, life-transforming truth of God’s Word concerning wrath, judgment and eternal punishment to those who reject Christ as their only Hope of Salvation. His indifferent comment to me was, “I’m an atheist”. I was stunned by his brazen denial of God. The time for warning is fast running out—even though God is not willing that any should perish, men will still stubbornly choose their own destiny as described in Revelation 16:9, “And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.” Without repentance, there simply is no salvation.
