Hurricane Issac
August 27, 2012

This morning, Monday, August 27, 2012, I received the news about Hurricane Isaac and its ominous track towards New Orleans, seven years to the day after 80% of the city was destroyed in 2005, along with 1,836 lives by Hurricane Katrina. Katrina was the costliest natural disaster ever in U.S. history, exceeding $110 billion dollars—a disaster of such proportion that America and the world will never forget.

I’m reading a disturbing headline right now from the Atlantic Wire which states, Hurricane Isaac On Track to Hit New Orleans on Katrina Anniversary”. Gov. Bobby Jindal has already declared a state of emergency for Louisiana. New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu also declared a state of emergency for the city.

You would think that after the unprecedented disaster of Katrina on New Orleans, the devastated city would repent and turn to God, but some lessons, we just never seem to learn. According to Jeremiah 17:9, the heart is still, “deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked”.

Isaac is forecasted to hit this Wednesday in the early morning, the same day that New Orleans will be celebrating “Southern Decadence”, a homosexual festival that will attract 135,000 people over five days of partying. The word, “decadence” means, “moral and cultural deterioration and decay”. The festival name speaks for itself. God, in His holiness and justice has used national disasters since the beginning of time, starting with the global flood of Genesis 7 to get the attention of a wicked world and He will do it again. Not once, but twice, the Bible portrays Sodom and Gomorrah as a clear sign of God’s righteous judgment against shameless wickedness and perversion.

“And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly” (2Peter 2:6)

“Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” (Jude 1:7)

On his prophecy website, Defend and Proclaim the Faith, Dr. John McTernan has warned, "Isaac is projected to make landfall as a category 3, which would be the same power as Hurricane Katrina. The amazing thing about Katrina was it also hit on August 29, during the week of Southern Decadence in 2005! Katrina was the greatest natural disaster ever to hit America. Now seven years later, to the day, another hurricane is heading towards this city. The church, city and nation have not repented and the homosexual agenda is far worse than it was in 2005. New Orleans is still hosting Southern Decadence with open homosexuality manifesting in the streets of the city. It could be that God is putting an end to this city and its wickedness.”

I am asking all of my readers to join me this Wednesday in a day of prayer and fasting. It is evident by all the signs of the times that this age is winding down and the Lord Jesus Christ will soon be returning for His Faithful Bride in every nation. Let us pray for grace and mercy, not only for America, but for the entire world, so loved by God. Pray that the Church would wake up out of its slumber and deception and sound the warning of impending judgment against sin and defiant rejection of Christ, the only Hope of the world.
